FORSUN's "Non-Coring Impregnated Drill Bit" Sets a World Record in South Africa
Recently, during an ultra-deep well operation of more than 1,000 meters in a mining area in Johannesburg, South Africa, a customer encountered a sudden "broken neck" accident when drilling a large-size DTH drill bit. The key part of the drill bit broke and got stuck at the bottom of the well. That problem often happens in deep well drilling. However what was surprising was this Non-Coring Impregnated Drill Bit specially designed by FORSUN had well solved the problem.
The Non-Coring Impregnated Drill Bit uses the original "grinding-air blowing" process to grind the metal debris in the well into micron-sized particles and remove them with air pressure, successfully saving the borehole that was on the verge of being scrapped.
The surface of the drill bit is densely covered with diamond micro-powder particles, and its hardness reaches the top level of Mohs 10. In the complex quartzite-rich strata in South Africa, the drill bit uses the "micro-cutting" principle to achieve a breakthrough of 15 meters in daily footage, which is 300% more efficient than traditional roller drill bits.
